78: How Christians Can Save America…

I just finished 78: How Christians Can Save America by Peter Heck and it is a must read! In the last few years I have been reading more books than I ever have in my life. The passion to restore America to it’s rightful foundations, has turned into a hunger to fill my mind with knowledge, insight from fellow patriots, and history. This is one of those books that is on my top ten list. Peter Heck’s book 78 places responsibility for the deterioration of the nation, precisely where it belongs, with the Christian’s in America. The premise of the book is that 78% of Americans claim to be Christians, however they are letting our nation be hi-jacked by the progressive left.

Peter was a featured speaker at the last tea party conference that I attended, after reading this book I am kicking myself, for not asking him sign the copy I bought!

Peter Heck

Peter points out that we passively sit by, while our children are taught in the public schools, that they are a product of the “big bang” accidental creation of the universe. Why are we surprised when millions of babies are aborted, young people are killing classmates at a whim, when the public school is teaching students that there is no moral anchor to our existence. Our nation’s new religion is moral relativism, sadly everyone doing right in their own eyes is a distortive path, look at what happened when Hitler did what was right in his own eyes. Peter Heck questions how can man be evolving, when we as a society go from Andy Griffith to Peter Griffin?

If you are involved in the liberty movement, or are interested in getting started, I strongly suggest this book. 78 focuses on Christians, as individuals, and reminds us we need to be strong in our own lives if we are going to make any difference in this broken world. Rightly so, Peter stresses the importance of bottom up restoration, first within ourselves, than in our surrounding fields of influences. Many Americans are put off by the mounting problems within our society, remember you can make the biggest impact within your own community. Get involved in your public schools, and as Peter suggest, don’t retreat from the public schools, surge the system with conservatives to change the tide. Become a precinct delegate within you party and work together with like-minded patriots to change the parties from within. Make sure the church you attend is not afraid to teach the Truth of the gospel rather than tickling the ears of it’s parishioners.

“For such a time and such as place as this, we’ve been called. Grounded in truth, possessing an unquenchable thirst for answers to the questions that actually matter, and motivated by an eternal conviction that will not be exhausted or extinguished, we understand the times. To the 78, we now know what we must do.” Heck, Peter 78: How Christians can Save America p.255.

Liberty…

cost of liberty

SO…Now is the time. We will soon find out if people believe this statement or not. If you do believe it, are you acting like you believe it? Are you standing and getting involved, trying in whatever way you can, to save our freedom and liberty for the next generation? If not, it’s time to get to work!

Dan Johnson- Tea Party Powwow Mt. Pleasant Michigan

My favorite speaker was from the 2014 Powwow was Dan Johnson from PANDA.
Dan Johnson
To say that this guy was full of passion would be an understatement. He not only overflowed with knowledge of how the NDAA is stripping away our rights, but his personality was so animated I was waiting for him to take flight.

(here is a video of Dan at a Ron Paul festival)

Tea Party events always invigorate me. It was encouraging to see Dan’s passion. We are in a battle for our nation, where the enemy wants to make us feel alone and powerless. Speakers like Dan remind me that we are on the winning side and our side is not going to sit by and watch our liberties be stripped away!

Mt. Pleasant Michigan Grassroots Powwow 2014

This was my second Powwow and I loved it, even better than my first, which was hard to top! When you are in the tea party movement there is nothing better than getting around 400 activist that are just as passionate as you are.

I am going to be posting on this event for weeks to come. The speakers were inspiring and it was encouraging to see individual groups from across the state of Michigan forming relationships.

Progressives…Rewriting History since 1933

I mean where else can you find a Constitution Quest Game distributor, wearing a shirt about progressives rewriting history? If you have pictures of this event please email them to meetmeundertherlibertytree@yahoo.com I would love to post them!

We have all had those times in our lives when we are thinking “God I can’t do what you are placing in front of me”. After watching this video, I promise you will feel that God will give you whatever you need to make it through, whatever is in front of you.

We the People…Merry Christmas

A few months ago I was on the phone with my sister and I received a God nudge. If you have had one, you know what I am talking about. I had an idea to give out baskets to my Uncle’s mission Matthew’s House for Christmas. The great thing about God’s nudges is that if you obey He works out the rest.Matthew's house

My sister called my aunt in September and shared the idea and asked how many families to expect for the upcoming holiday. 40 families…40 baskets…and a bunch of stuff to fill them. As the months went on we picked up items and received donations through family and friends. Donations always seemed to come in when we feared this project was too big for us.

Instead of games, our family got together and made crafts to fill the baskets with love. One of my aunts knitted 13 hats. A woman at my Bible study, almost weekly, gave me baskets she bought at Salvation Army. Family arrived at our Christmas party early to drop off even more donations and help pack up 28 baskets.

My sister and I met up this past weekend to finish up the rest…we planned that there was 6 baskets to finish up, my sister found 12 more in her basement (don’t you love when God has a sense of humor). At the end we had exactly 40 baskets!!!

My Uncle said the baskets were a big hit at the Matthew’s House Christmas Party. I encourage you to act on those God nudges, because it is so fulfilling watching Him work through everyone around you. If you are looking to support a charity this year please consider Matthew’s house, Merry Christmas!!!

13 Things Mentally Strong People Avoid… list written by Amy Morin

I made a video, inspired by a list 13 things mentally strong people avoid, written by Amy Morin.

Amy Morin wrote this list of attributes that she observed within patients that were more successful in treatment…

1. They Don’t Waste Time Feeling Sorry for Themselves

Mentally strong people don’t sit around feeling sorry about their circumstances or how others have treated them. Instead, they take responsibility for their role in life and understand that life isn’t always easy or fair.

2. They Don’t Give Away Their Power

They don’t allow others to control them, and they don’t give someone else power over them. They don’t say things like, “My boss makes me feel bad,” because they understand that they are in control over their own emotions and they have a choice in how they respond.

3. They Don’t Shy Away from Change

Mentally strong people don’t try to avoid change. Instead, they welcome positive change and are willing to be flexible. They understand that change is inevitable and believe in their abilities to adapt.

4. They Don’t Waste Energy on Things They Can’t Control

You won’t hear a mentally strong person complaining over lost luggage or traffic jams. Instead, they focus on what they can control in their lives. They recognize that sometimes, the only thing they can control is their attitude.

5. They Don’t Worry About Pleasing Everyone

Mentally strong people recognize that they don’t need to please everyone all the time. They’re not afraid to say no or speak up when necessary. They strive to be kind and fair, but can handle other people being upset if they didn’t make them happy.

6. They Don’t Fear Taking Calculated Risks

They don’t take reckless or foolish risks, but don’t mind taking calculated risks. Mentally strong people spend time weighing the risks and benefits before making a big decision, and they’re fully informed of the potential downsides before they take action.

7. They Don’t Dwell on the Past

Mentally strong people don’t waste time dwelling on the past and wishing things could be different. They acknowledge their past and can say what they’ve learned from it. However, they don’t constantly relive bad experiences or fantasize about the glory days. Instead, they live for the present and plan for the future.

8. They Don’t Make the Same Mistakes Over and Over

Mentally strong people accept responsibility for their behavior and learn from their past mistakes. As a result, they don’t keep repeating those mistakes over and over. Instead, they move on and make better decisions in the future.

9. They Don’t Resent Other People’s Success

Mentally strong people can appreciate and celebrate other people’s success in life. They don’t grow jealous or feel cheated when others surpass them. Instead, they recognize that success comes with hard work, and they are willing to work hard for their own chance at success.

10. They Don’t Give Up After the First Failure

Mentally strong people don’t view failure as a reason to give up. Instead, they use failure as an opportunity to grow and improve. They are willing to keep trying until they get it right.

11. They Don’t Fear Alone Time

Mentally strong people can tolerate being alone and they don’t fear silence. They aren’t afraid to be alone with their thoughts and they can use downtime to be productive. They enjoy their own company and aren’t dependent on others for companionship and entertainment all the time but instead can be happy alone.

12. They Don’t Feel the World Owes Them Anything

Mentally strong people don’t feel entitled to things in life. They weren’t born with a mentality that others would take care of them or that the world must give them something. Instead, they look for opportunities based on their own merits.

13. They Don’t Expect Immediate Results

Whether they are working on improving their health or getting a new business off the ground, mentally strong people don’t expect immediate results. Instead, they apply their skills and time to the best of their ability and understand that real change takes time.
This basic principles need to be relearned to generations that were never taught the real meaning of strength!

Nothing is Impossible…

Matthew 17:20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain. ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

move mountains

Next time you hear the lie, things can’t happen or the lie that it is no longer possible, remember that verse. Nothing is impossible, we need to stop the lie of impossible! Through Christ we can turn this country around, pray and get to work!
